PTI October blog hop.

This is the inspiration picture for this month's blog hop at Papertrey Ink

And this is what I did with it
I embossed the die for the tag into the page before stamping the tag image.

MIM #227 - Focal clusters

I broke open my new Holiday folk set for this week's challenge at Papertrey Ink.
We were asked to make a focal cluster using a number of stamps.
I used Pinefeather and Simply Chartreuse inks, and supplemented the Holiday folk stamps with the star cluster from Christmas cheer and some stripes to ground it all (see, I was paying attention to the last Make it Monday!)

PTI Create along - October

There are so many cards I could make from the inspiration at Papertrey Ink's October release. That's why I love the Create along with us challenge.
Because I had to pick one, I chose this card by Betsy Veldman
I honestly thought this cover plate must have a matching stamp until I read her blog and realised that the images weren't the same.
So with this as the start point, and using the Garden Gild cover plate and an assortment of snowflakes I made this...

TH 12 Tags - October

Not a tag, but something to stand on a small easel, is my entry for this month's 12 tags of 2015.
I'm fighting a bit of a loosing battle with Halloween at the moment. At 15 my son is way too cool for this nonsense, but I still love decorating (only for about a week though - nothing's going up for at least another week)
I really like the 3 d monsters but, realistically, I'm never going to use them. Instead I set about trying to make my own 3 d pumpkin and I'm pretty pleased with the result.
I love the spider. Ir was one of those very cheap plastic rings you can buy. At first I was frustrated that the paint wasn't covering completely but then I decided it looked better mottled.

Runway inspired #93

As I was mooching around some blogs last week I can across the Runway Inspired challenges. There are a hugely talented bunch who take part in these challenges so I decided to push (and expose) myself and have an attempt to play along. So here is my first go at a Runway Inspired challenge.
This is the inspiration picture. The top portion of the skirt, with that red triangle just called "sailboat sail" to me, so that's what I did with my card.

I used a few curved masked cut roughly out of post-it-notes and inked over in tumbled glass, then moved the masks and inked again in broken china. The sailboat is from Paper smooches set which I stamped and pieced with red card stock.

MIM #226

A super simple challenge at Papertrey Ink this week. The only requirement was to use stripes.
Laurie suggested using stripes to border inked areas, and also to ground images to I did both and left the rest of the card super simple. I used PTI Topiary trio - such a nice set that I don't use nearly as much as I should.
