MIM #309

Finally, time to get back to a little gentle card making after the whirlwind that was December. In fact, 2017 in it's entirety seems to have passed in the blink of an eye. However, I was determined to play along with this weeks challenge at Papertrey Ink so here is my entry.
I used the woodblock print stencil set, starting with the background shape which I sponged in green parakeet ink and then used the distress pen spritzer and mowed lawn marker to give a little variation in colour.
Then I heat embossed the detail stencil with Zing embossing powder in Butter to match the card base. I added the dashed lines to frame the shapes with the mowed lawn marker.
I hadn't really pictured how much like wallpaper my end result would look. Not actually what I'd been going for necessarily!
I cut out a mat and mounted it on a piece of cardboard to give some real dimension to it, and cut out a square to mount the sentiment behind. I wish I could tell you where the wood frames are from but they were just loose in a drawer. They were stuck on with scor tape to (hopefully) keep them attached. The sentiment is from Ombre sentiments - birthday.
This is all mounted on a vintage cream card base.
