Make It Monday #119: Flagged Borders

It's such a miserable day here that I was delighted to see this weeks MIM was such a cheery project and was determined to use some nice bright colors to make up for the grey skies.
The colors I used throughout are PTI Lemon torte and Limeade ice as I loved the way they looked in last months blog hop.

I stamped a couple of different background stamps onto white and lemon torte card stock and then cut them into banners which I stuck onto a 5 1/2" square card base.
I cut the medallion out using the Cricut "elegant edges" cartridge in a size to just accommodate the frame from PTI tag-its #10, which is also where the sentiments are from. I colored the "happy" in with a yellow copic and used foam pads to place the medallion in the center of the banner circle.
For a while I had a ribbon bow in the corner but it seemed to overpower the card - or is it just that I'm not great with embellishments?

  1. I like your card very much! I also like it better without the bow-my eyes were drawn to the bow, not the gorgeous banner round. I may have to do this for a baby card I need to make as I have so many pink and blue scraps-good way to use them up. Thanks for the inspiration!!!!!

  2. What a great use of those little flags, I would have never thought of a circle. I love the bow, but without the bow those little flags stand well on their own. Thank you for the inspiration!

  6. So many creative elements, like the happy banner within the circle. And all the patterned papers and stamped flags. So clever in a circle!
