A super simple card for this weeks Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink (at least it will be when Nichole's blog is back up!)
Instead of starting with a stamp, I started with a stencil (Heidi Swapp mini stencil - frames) and sponged on Hawaiian Shore ink. Then I used a watercolour brush to spread it all around a bit as Betsy demonstrated. Once I'd blurred the edges enough, while still leaving the "hello" just legible, I left it to dry and then stamped the "friend" sentiment from Wet Paint in smoky shadow.
My watercolour paper had a slight grey cast so it looked wrong mounted on white card stock so instead I used a bright pattern as contrast to the very simple panel.
ooh! love this. so subtle but striking.
