SSS Monday - Anything goes

I took the title for this weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp - Monday literally, and used it as an opportunity to make something I've been thinking about for a while.
My friend recently gave me her mother-in-law's button box, knowing that I might find a use for them. This project is for her.
When my Dad was last visiting, he turned an old sheet of plywood into 3-1/4 width strips to build me an ink storage box. He made a few too many strips though (like 4 times as many as he needed) so the backing here uses a few of those spare pieces.
I spray painted all the buttons with semi gloss enamel, and once dry played with the arrangement until I was happy with it. Then I used the hot glue gun to attach them one at a time (and only burnt myself twice which is better than usual)
This is the finished project, with initials and wedding date in white acrylic paint that I sanded back once it was dry.

  1. This is stunning, Sarah - it really popped out of the gallery at SSS! Love that you sprayed all of the buttons white - a great shabby chic look :)
