I'm not very impressed with my red embossing powder (I tried to add glossy red berries to the wreath but they are pretty underwhelming). However, I had more success with the chalkboard look this time by adding the white ink with a big paintbrush (the one that comes free with perfect pearls) rather than using a sponge. I covered the christmas sentiment with glossy accents to give some shine.
