I know the inspiration picture for this months blog hop at Papertrey Ink is just crying out to be made into a Christmas card, but I decided to go a different route.
It's lovely isn't it. I wish my mantle looked like this at Christmas. I decided to use the new Confetti toss stamp set to replicate the bauble swag. I stamped the outline shapes and then coloured them with distress markers. This isn't a decision I'd make next time as the glossy accents caused a few of them to puddle, but (glass half full approach) I quite like the irregularity. Definitely not baubles though.
So instead I turned it into a get well card for my Father-in-law with a bit of silver tape (stolen from my husband's supplies in the basement - maybe air duct tape?) stuck on white card and embossed with Darice's diamond plate embossing folder.

ReplyDeleteYou are definitely a glass-half-full person, Sarah, but I do think your design would have been stunning as a holiday card, too ~ without the duct tape, of course!
