PTI MIM #138

I'm still in the mood for tags, despite all the ones I made for the blog hop, so I used this week's Make it Monday as an excuse to make yet another set.

I hoped the inset paper would look a bit like a candy cane. The answer seems to be sort of...
It was only after I'd made the first few that I realised I'd done it back to front for a tag (the ribbon should be at the other end to my mind) so I need to flip and re-make, but that'll have to be another day!

PTI October Blog Hop #7

Couldn't resist one final post for today's blog hop at Papertrey Ink.
I ordered this mini set with tags specifically in mind so I had to use it for today's challenge.
I plan on making the other 2 words up into sets as well (Peace and Love), but that'll have to wait for another day.

PTI October Blog Hop #6

Probably my final entry for this month's Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink, but one of my favourites.
The "snow" was made with dots of glue from a glue pen and white glitter, although I don't seem to have caught any sparkle in the picture.

PTI October Blog Hop #5

Another entry for the PTI October Blog Hop.
The button, in reality, is much closer in colour to the Hibiscus burst ink.

PTI October Blog Hop #4

I'm having way too much fun with the Tag It Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink.
In fact, I feel like I'm going to run out of time before I run out of ideas. it helps that I bought quite a few of last month's new stamps but I used an old favourite for this one.
The challenge inspiration pictures included one with (I think) washi tape at the top, but this has card stock stamped with one of the Bitty backgrounds 2.

PTI October Blog Hop #3

I'm playing along with the Tag It Blog Hop challenge at Papertrey Ink.
I can't believe how much time I spent on these tags!
I recently bought some distress stains to play with, and made up the background using a combination of these. Once it was dry some of the stain had leaked through so I attached a backing sheet before die cutting the tags.

I made the top tabs using one of the Simply stripes background stamps, and used the snowflake from the new confetti garlands set (which are fantastic).

PTI October Blog Hop #2

I'm playing along with the Tag It Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink.
If you had asked me if I had any Red tinsel embossing powder I'd have denied it straight off, so I couldn't have been any more surprised when I discovered it lurking at the back of the drawer!

However, it made a great addition to this set of tags.

PTI October Blog Hop

Love this month's Blog Hop challenge at Papertrey Ink.
It is tag making challenge, which is really useful right now and so much fun.
Last year a friend asked if I would help out at the Middle school Christmas craft club. This year I'm helping run it (isn't it always the way?!).
We are in the enviable position where we are not tasked with making profit (although we try to). Our main aim is to give all the kids somewhere they can shop for gifts for their family, even on a limited budget.
We are packaging up little bags with Hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and candy canes and the kids are going to make these tags to tie the bags closed with. I've done all the prepping and stamping for each layer - they just have to assemble (we learnt a hard lesson last year regarding how beat up a stamp can get when left to the tender mercies of a room full of 4th - 6th graders).

MIM #136

This weeks MIM at Papertrey ink was Textured stamping.
We've had a similar challenge before and, now as then, I used the back side of the stamp to get a large, unpatterned area to work with.

FMS #107

A very quick entry for this week's Freshly made sketches.
This was the sketch

And here's my card

SSS Monday - Tammy Tutterow

The Monday Challenge at the SSS Blog this week was to be inspired by Tammy Tutterow.
On her blog I saw a Halloween tag with a die cut window frame and thought I'd have a play with that idea.
Each year I send my nephew, who's at college, some candy for Halloween, so this'll go in with that. Although, being a 19 year old boy the note could be scribbled on the back of an old receipt and that would be appreciated just as much!

SSS Wednesday - Going Dotty

I'm having a lovely day catching up with challenges...
The Wednesday Challenge at Simon says Stamp was entitled "We're going dotty".
There didn't end up being a lot of colour in the card but I rather like the muted effect.
There's a few bits of patterned paper (including 1 from Basic Grey), and a couple of dotty stamps on craft paper.

MIM #135

I love when I don't work on Mondays - it gives me a chance to catch up on the weeks challenges and get a head start on Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.
The fancy title is "layered emboss resist" and Heather's video was about the quickest I've ever seen, but very straightforward.
I keep going back to these tree images from the "Tree with Trimmings" set. Its obviously my go-to set for Christmas this year. The sentiment got a little lost in with the music score, but as the music is also for "Have yourself a Merry little Christmas" I just couldn't resist putting them together.

Freshly made sketches is a new challenge for me that I saw as I was checking out some of the other entries for this weeks MIM. The sketch really appealed to me so I thought I'd give it a go.

The card is very, very simple for me, but I do like the effect of the double snowflake.

SSS Monday - Say it with stamps

The Monday Challenge at Simon says stamp this week is to use sentiment stamps.
I decided to make a Thanksgiving card using some leaves I'd cut out for another project that never got made.

MIM #134

This weeks Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey ink was called Repeat and lift.
This was a fun challenge and I love the effect it produces.
I used Hibiscus burst and Hawaiian shores inks and love the fresh feel they give the card.
