MIM #162 - Pie charts

A card for this week's Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink.

I thought I'd use some sentiments from "A few pointers" and was delighted that one of the options in "birthday basics" was the same font.

PTI April Blog Hop - Embroidered #3

It is time for the monthly Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink, and this months inspiration is "embroidered".
My inspiration for this card was beautifully embroidered bed linens - I'm always a sucker for crisp white cotton with single colour embroidery work. Just wish they were easier to iron!

PTI April Blog Hop - Embroidered #2

It is time for the monthly Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink, and this month the theme is "embroidered".
With this month's theme I really had to make a card using PTIs Embroidered Blooms, although I used it a little differently to usual.
I stamped both the leaf steps in PTI Fine linen ink, and then used chalks to add some colour. I stamped over the top with Background basics - Text style and added a little Melon Berry ink with a sponge applicator.. The sentiment is from Wet paint.

PTI April Bog Hop - Embroidered #1

It's Blog Hop day at Papertrey Ink and this month the theme is "embroidered".
My inspiration for this first card is the background stamp, which reminds me of a tapestry stitch.
I've been trying to find a woodgrain background stamp that I like - there are loads out there but I've yet to find the perfect one for me. This one is a Tim Holtz stencil and although it's getting close it's still not there. Any suggestions?

MIM #161 - watercolor splats

I had fun playing with this weeks Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink.
It was a very easy technique, only complicated by a cat who was desperate to help with the water part (a cat licking the paintbrush while you're working doesn't make for very regular shaped splats I've discovered!)
The ink colours are aqua mist, blueberry sky, winter wisteria and autumn rose and the sentiment is from "we go together".

MIM #159

I was thrilled when I saw the video for this weeks Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink as my first love, crafting wise, was patchwork. I still have a bundle of flyers a friend, who was a paperboy, collected for me as they were the perfect weight to act as backing papers.
So the opportunity to transfer this technique to a card was one I couldn't wait to have a go at.
In my excitement to assemble the card I didn't wait quite long enough to allow the "wet paint" sentiment to dry on the vellum!
I used PTI cover plates Deco to frame my "quilt", and  Harlequin for the "quilting".
The papers are all scraps from Teresa Collins Vintage collection.

FMS #130

A very quick card for this weeks challenge at Freshly Made sketches
Here is the sketch

And here is my take on it
All of the die cut elements are from MFT blueprints 13, and the sentiments are from Technique Tuesday's "Dad Rocks" stamp set.

MFT Sketch #170

Last week, while searching the web for card inspiration, I saw a card mat with a fabulous stitched edge, and from there discovered MFTs blueprints dies series, specifically #13. From there I found MFTs blog and couldn't wait for the die to arrive so I could start playing on this weeks Sketch challenge.
This card uses MFT blueprint 13 die, Hero Arts mortar board stamp, Stampers Anonymous "words to the Rescue - Graduation" and PTI enchanted evening ink.
