MIM #265 - layered dry brushing

I love this week's Make it Monday technique at Papertrey Ink. It's one I've not tried before and I'm completely obsessed with the results.
There's nothing subtle about the colours I used - smoky shadow and scarlet jewel - but somehow the result is still gentle and muted. I know I'm going to be using this technique a whole lot. I used gesso as my base, because that's what I had.

PTI October Blog hop

A very quick card for this month's blog hop at Papertrey Ink.
Here's the inspiration photo:
Blog Hop
Very pretty and Autumny. As ever, the false starts took much more time than the final card, but I like how this finally worked out.

PTI October release

Here's a card for this month's Create along with us challenge at Papertrey ink.
It's based on this tag by Kay Miller

I have all sorts of proper watercolour pens and paints, but this background was made using a cheap crayola set - go figure!
The trees are a partial diecut of the background basics - evergreens set and the sentiment is from Think Big favourites #20.

MIM #263

A card for this weeks' Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink.
I used images from Summer Hills and Winter Hills to make a scene, masked the houses and added a watercolour wash with Ranger's Evergreen bough.
The frames are cut with the Keep it Simple frames die, and the sentiment and heart logo are from PTI holiday homes stamp set.
The paper at the top is from the Rustic snowflakes paper pad I got in a paper grab bag. I loved the first one so much I ordered another - forgetting of course that I would get the same paper all over again! So I have lots of holiday papers to play with this year. Oh well, I'll remember to pick a different number next time.
